I hope you are enjoying your summer so far, we certainly are - the kids are having a blast, they have built sand castles, paddled in the sea, stayed up late and eaten far too many ice-creams but that's what summer holidays are for isn't it?
Today we have a lovely guest post from Steph who blogs over at Mental Parentals. Steph is a 20 something full time working Mum who is Emmy's Mummyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00896279622581980110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2188779485261776836.post-9133815555476795882016-08-05T06:30:00.000+01:002016-08-05T06:30:11.171+01:00Guest post from Chantelle: How to have an inexpensive summer holidays with kids
That's it - my bags are packed, the sun cream is ready and the house and dog sitters are now here. For us it is holiday time.
It has become a tradition now that every holiday time I open up the blog to guest posts from other lovely bloggers and it is that time again. Today's post is from a very good friend of mine Chantelle who blogs over at Mama Mummy Mum. This week I am off of holiday to Cornwall, so with the house sitter and dog sitter all in place, our bags packed and being as organised as I possibly can be I have handed over the blog to some wonderful bloggers who will be helping to keep you entertained this week.

Regular readers of this blog will know that prior to having my own children I was a Nanny for 14 years, I always knew from a young age that I wanted to work with children - it was a calling or perhaps a passion.
All of my school work experience placements were taken in schools and Nursery settings and as soon as I was able to choose my school options I geared them towards my already chosen Emmy's Mummyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00896279622581980110noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2188779485261776836.post-6011215062507721542016-08-02T08:00:00.000+01:002016-08-02T08:20:04.006+01:00Follow our DryNites® Journey: Vlog number 1

With their help I am just beginning to embark on the whole bedtime routine with Harry with the end result of getting him dry at night.

When I was a child I grew up with a menagerie of pets at home. It was lovely and all my friends loved coming over for playdates - often joking they were coming to visit the zoo and then went home trying to convince their parents they had to have new pets.

The weekend before last we were very kindly invited by Specsavers to attend a private screening of the brand new Finding Dory movie at the truly wonderful Disney HQ. We have been lucky enough to have been here now on three occasions and it is somewhere I will never tire of going as the magic is never lost - no matter how old I get. Disney is NOT just for kids after all.

I am so excited for the start of our 6 weeks holiday adventures. With both children now in school they were very ready for some time off and some lazy days and some fun days.
It was certainly time to throw routine out of the window and to kick back for a while.
Harry finished school last Wednesday after a school party and Emmy finished on Thursday. Growing up I was rather unaware of single parent families, my parents were still married as were all my friends parents so it wasn't until my late teens that I became aware of any variation from this. It was a new friend I had made - one who joined the school later in the school years after moving to the area with her Mum which made me realise that not everyone's home situations were the Emmy's Mummyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00896279622581980110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2188779485261776836.post-20936062968434160162016-07-26T21:08:00.000+01:002016-07-26T21:08:29.041+01:00How to install a glass tile backsplash in your kitchen
This post is a continuation of a post Mood Boosting Home Makeover Ideas.
The walls behind your kitchen counter, by the sink, and behind the stove, often get splashed by the food you are cooking. It happens to the best of us! - I am guilty of dropping the pans with sauces in more often than not and splashing the sauce all over the place.

Every year since Emmy started School I have celebrated the start of the Summer holidays with vigour that we have a whole 6 weeks off and plenty of time to do everything. Of course the time passes far too quickly for all of our liking - even with the “I’m bored” from the kids or the “Please just 5 more minutes to answer these emails and get this work done” from me.
It is a struggle for Emmy's Mummyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00896279622581980110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2188779485261776836.post-63193587790726465342016-07-21T00:17:00.002+01:002016-07-21T11:44:39.108+01:00Win £100 credit for Lottoland to play the Lottery
I've never been a religious lottery player, it doesn't bother me if weeks pass and I've not purchased a ticket and I certainly don't check the numbers weekly to see if I could have won.

It was inevitable that at some point my children would come across the Teletubbies. I did think we had avoided it when Emmy showed no interest in it at all however when we cancelled our Sky package recently and that coincided with our internet issues we were then left with Freeview therefore watched CBeebies again and Harry was instantly glued when it came on.

Although my children are only 6 & 3 years of age a lot of modern day life is spent online, we have cancelled our Sky TV package and now only watch YouTube and Netflix. Those of you who follow this blog regularly will know that the week before last our car died, and the repairs needed to get it back onto the road again just aren't economical. It is a little battered now and all the repairs would cost more than the car is worth so it is time to Emmy's Mummyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00896279622581980110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2188779485261776836.post-656277457853064362016-07-14T06:30:00.000+01:002016-07-14T06:30:26.991+01:00Giveaway: Win a Baby Annabel Baby Brother Doll

We are huge stationery fans here, I have SO many notebooks with half written to-do lists in - they are half written because Emmy tends to steal them for her drawings and of course I don't have the heart to take them back again as she is amazing at drawing currently and loves to practice her joined up hand-writing all the time as she is determined to get her pen licence next year.

Both of my children have been fans of Peppa Pig from a young age, it is a programme which seems to capture young imaginations and they are entranced from the off.
